R404A is an HFC blend that is widely used in low and medium temperature refrigeration applications, such as those used in commercial refrigeration, supermarket display cases, cold rooms, transport refrigeration and process cooling. Although it is a popular refrigerant, R404A is coming under greater scrutiny due to its high Global Warming Potential (GWP). Lower-GWP replacements (drop-in and retrofit) are available including R407F and R407C.
